The Oconee Ranch consists of 1,257 +/- acres and is bisected by U.S. Highway 40.  Electricity is available in the area.  The property lies in the migration lane for elk while they are re-locating from the summer country to where the animals spend the winters.  The vegetation is all native grasses with an over story of sage brush.  Large numbers of elk can be observed from the property wintering to the North and East.

The property is located in Northwest Colorado approximately 62 miles West of Craig and 13 miles East of Dinosaur National Monument.  The White River National Forest is approximately 40 miles to the Southeast.  The land is borderd by a large tract of BLM to the North and to the East.  It is located in GMU 11, over the counter elk licenses, only 3 miles East of GMU 10, a trophy bull elk draw area.  The property is 4 miles Southeast of the Cross Mountain Canyon, for Yampa River whitewater river rafting.

The property has one well, which is permitted for livestock.  The well is 435' ft. deep, static water level is at 312' ft.  It is reported at 6 gpm.  It is powered by a generator along with a gravity flow storage tank.  The well attracts all types of big game animals.

The property is fenced and cross fenced for grazing rotation.  There is a water storage reservoir in the Northeast corner of the property.  In the spring it fills with runoff from the snow melt.  The owner may divide.  For more information call Hoss Port at 303-503-3876
