Description

The Red House Ranch has been owned and operated by the current family since 1990.  This property is a rare recreational offering with established hunting operation.  Property availability in this area is limited by a large amount of university land.  The property consists of 6,235 acres.  There is oil production and no mineral rights available.

One hour north of I-10 from Ozona, Texas.  Approximately 10 minutes north of Big Lake, Texas on highway 137 with 4 miles of highway frontage.  Ranch divided 4 & 6 sections by Hwy 137 making same easily divisible.  There is an airport at Big Lake.  Closest major airports are Midland-Odessa and San Angelo approximately one hour either way.

Compare the whitetail deer, blue quail, bobwhites, dove, and turkey, and at a bargain price.  Protein feeding program was established in early 90's.

Rolling mesquite is an indicator of the quality soil type with suitable wildlife cover.  This area is a highly agriculturally productive area with crops of cotton, pecans, and grain.  Drip irrigation field available for food plots.

Total of seven water areas including windmills, pumps, troughs, reservoirs-both concrete and earthen.  Combination of both in some areas.  Underground water is available for drilling.

There is a very adequate road system through the entire ranch and electricity is established.  Caliche and rock are available on the ranch for additional construction.

The Red House is the hunter's accommodation.  Sleeps 8-10 hunters.  Rock and red siding combination with wood burning stove make it typically Texas ranch comfortable.  Downstairs living, kitchen, two bedrooms, and bath.  Upstairs is one large room with multiple beds and possibilities.  Outside a balcony and side porch.  There is also a 2 bedroom, 2 bath mobile home.

There are 13 blinds and feeder locations with possibilities of more.  Also on location are two large overhead storage bins for protein and corn.

Trophy Feeders was birthed on the ranch by Wayne Ables.  His endless search for an effective and efficient protein feeder was the force and motivation behind this unique product.  The family continues to manufacture and distribute this product.  The Ranch reflects versions of the original to the current.  Visit Trophy Feeders at www.trophyfeeders.com

This area is one of the best kept secrets in Texas hunting.  It neighbors the famous Rocker B.  This ranch was the first to protein feed in the area and to date only a few in the area have the vision for wildlife potential economically.  There are no High Fences out here yet which gives an idea of the potential for development.
